How Kässbohrer attracts young talent to winter sports
Heading for the snow with enthusiasm

Targeted support for young talent in winter sports is becoming increasingly important. Ski resorts, ski associations and equipment suppliers are more reliant than ever on getting children and young people excited about snow sports from an early age. With its own initiative, “Away from the PC – out into the snow”, Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG has been focusing on precisely this for many years, demonstrating how young people can be introduced to skiing and winter sports in a playful and sustainable way. Professional instruction, practical training formats and experience-oriented activities not only teach skiing skills but, above all, instil a love of being active in the snow.
Fostering early enthusiasm: Mini-Ski initiatives with the DSV and SBW
A key component of this commitment is the marketing and deployment of the PistenBully Mini-Ski, which has been successfully implemented since 2016 in cooperation with the German Ski Association (DSV) and the Baden-Württemberg Ski Association (SBW). As part of numerous Mini-Ski action days, children at primary schools, in clubs and at ski resorts take their first steps on skis – in an accessible, safe and fun way. One example of this is the Mini-Ski project in Oberammergau, which impressively demonstrates how an early enthusiasm for winter sports can be fostered.
Practical training, developing talent: the PistenBully SkiCross Kids Camps
Kässbohrer also organises the PistenBully SkiCross Kids Camps on a regular basis in close collaboration with the DSV. These take place several times a year – on snow in winter and, since last year, on mats in summer as well. Under the professional guidance of DSV coaches and athletes, the participating children improve their technique and gain valuable skiing experience. The career of Lina Hüsgen, who once took part in a PistenBully SkiCross Kids Camp and now competes for the DSV team, demonstrates just how lasting the impact of this support can be.
From first contact to competition: youth development in biathlon
The company is also making its mark in biathlon by introducing young people to the discipline: in collaboration with the German Alpine Club (DAV), the annual PistenBully Primary School Cups take place, offering first experiences of biathlon with a final at the PistenBully Biathlon Centre in Dornstadt. A Kids Camp is also set to be launched in this discipline soon.
Promoting racing: Commitment to young alpine skiers
Furthermore, Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG supports the Association for the Promotion of Young Alpine Skiers (FSN) by providing the best possible marketing for the annual PistenBully Children’s Ski Race.
Regional strength with a vision: nurturing young talent in Baden-Württemberg
Together with the SBW, Kässbohrer is planning a further, cross-regional campaign from 2026 to strengthen the promotion of young talent in mini-skiing. The aim is to further expand the action days across various ski resorts and regions and to attract even more children to the sport of skiing. Through these diverse initiatives, Kässbohrer is making an important contribution to the sustainable promotion of young talent in winter sports and demonstrating how responsible commitment can secure the future of an entire industry.
