Finally PistenBully Championship in Melchsee-Frutt again!
After a five-year break, the Snowexpo of the Swiss Melchsee-Frutt sports lifts made a good new start with 1,000 visitors and 24 exhibitors. The organizing committee from the technical management level of the ski resort invested a lot of time and energy on a voluntary basis to realize the two-day event at 2,000 meters. "We wanted - also at the request of the supply industry - to finally have another event where we ropeway operators can meet informally and test products right on the spot," says OC President Beat von Deschwanden. The costs were covered by sponsors and gastro sales.
PistenBully driver competition
Equally important to the OC team is the joy of snow groomer driving. That is why the 14th Swiss PistenBully Championship took place on the second day. 53 drivers competed in various games of skill with the PistenBully, the winners were decided in a knockout system. The winner was local hero David Schindelholz ahead of Peter Zimmermann from Braunwald and Jonas Wiedmer from Saas-Fee.
In the future, Snowexpo will take place every two years at the end of the season in March - always alternating with the Interalpin trade fair.
